Twerk Team General

Image
Being a teenager is all about showing off your best and brightest attributes. I'm a huge proponent of showcasing yourself, that is giving people the most amazing parts of you. Your smile, laugh, silly faces, humor, smarts, compassion, generosity and last but not least, your dance skills. All these things that draw people to you, and make them want to be around you. They are absolutely important and you're going to need them. Let it all hang out every once in a while and give the people what they want .... you! Put on your dancing shoes, roll of your sleeves, and drop it like it's hot, this is twerk team general. Can I please first and foremost point out that the gif right there is me going hard (I've reached that point that I'm #gifworthy). Secondly, I have to explain the whole premise of this post, so here it goes. Twerking is literally all about shaking what your momma gave yeah, breaking it down, and doing the absolute utmost with your booty when it comes to...

Impact

Being a teenager is all about doing something meaningful. I've come to realize that my biggest problem with college is the fact that so much of the lifestyle on my campus centers around pointlessness. I'm like, why are we doing this? Why are things this way? Why do I even go here? I want my life to mean something, to be a small part of something larger than myself, and do make a splash. I want to be the crater that changes everything, the force to be reckoned with, and the light that shines in the darkness. I want to make an impact. You never really know the impact you have on a person or a situation. You can get little hints from facial expressions, body language, and just trying to read what's going on, but you never know the full story. Everything you say, everything you do, and all the actions in between not only have an impact on yourself but everyone else around you. You have the power to seriously brighten someone's day, or put a major damper on it. You'v...

Live Your Life

Being a teenager is all about doing everything to the fullest. We're teens but that doesn't mean we have to half-ass things or not give our best. You've to put yourself wholeheartedly into whatever you do and make sure it gets done the way it should. No need to slack off or not take it to the next level. We're young and wild, and that means taking everything there like Degrassi used to do (that's Holly Freaking J). You've got to give it your all no matter way. That's the way you should live your life.  *This is the story of my NACURH 2012 CU Boulder experience, part 3 of 3, hit it (check parts 1 and 2 here OLTL  & YOLO ) Waking up and having no idea where you are might be one of the weirdest things ever. I wake up and Sam is getting ready for NCC (national communications coordinator) boardroom, so I tie his tie and get myself dressed in all white, complete with high socks and some true UVM green. It's just about breakfast time but Felicia and E...

One Life To Live

Image
Being a teenager is all about making the best out of any situation. No matter what goes down, even if it's not exactly what was originally planned, you've got to learn to roll with whatever comes your way. You can change the outcome of anything that goes on in your life, as long as you are willing - you are able. Just like that soap opera, you've got one life to live - so live it up. This is the story of my NACURH 2012 CU Boulder experience - part 1 of 3, here we go. This whole thing started Friday morning when my brother drove me in the pouring rain to the airport, just across the border in Kentucky. I get down and immediately get down to business. I check my bag, and proceed to security which is my least favorite part. I remove my belt, my sweater, and my shoes before entering the scanner with my skinny jeans sagging a bit and my black plaid boxers giving everyone a free show. I wait a minute and have to spread my arms and legs and get patted down, as they run my car...
