It's a rat race to wield the power of knowledge and truth. When knowledge is hoarded like a dragon in a cave we have to see the impact others are deprived of knowledge. It's a direct balance. Keeping people from knowing, from cultivating the tools to know, and from how to know  is cruel manipulation with devastating consequences. Should we all have the chance to know? Who deserve to know? And to know what? Do we have to know everything? More and more we are faced with these grand questions about what is right, good, just, or even equitable for every aspect of our lives, our communities, and our societies. What is the place you can rest when the world wants you to be restless? What happens when others deem you unworthy of peace, when you existence is a problem, when your life is and of itself is a political issue? That is the dilemma of blackness. Blackness inherently has no significance but because of the ways we're socialized to respond, interact, and navigate race it comes with a lifetime of things to unpack. I had someone ask me if I liked being black last week. I had to explain to them that I love being black, and that I would not be me without it. Blackness is not a burden, a curse, or a summation - but it's how we treat black people, and blackness itself that makes existing, persisting, resisting while black an everyday challenge.  Oppress...

The 20s are all about figuring out how you can help in the world. There's no more of this inactive bystander nonsense. You are capable of helping, of making a difference and of standing up. So many travesties, tragedies and all the chair in between go down on a daily basis. It doesn't take a Good Samaritan to do something selfless, we all have the ability to be strong, powerful and bring hope to those who need it most. All this injustice - oh hell to the no, justice is about to be served.  Man of Steel. Period, point blank, end of story. The feels I had, the amount that I just couldn't (like I was physically and emotional incapable) and the awe that was inspired in me was just too much to freaking handle. Being a teenager means that you're getting to get fired up. I watch the news, no it doesn't make it weird or put me in a mid-life crisis. It just means I like to know WTE is going on in this crazy world. If you really think about it, it seems like our world is absolutely falling apart, and that's just in our good old land of America. If we've got it bad, just think about all the less than fortunate people around the world suffering. This week the water heater in our house broken, and that entailed taking bathy/showers with a bucket after boiling some water on the stove. First of all, the amount of hot water burns I have all my body is unsightly but you get over it because at least you can take a shower. It's the little things that get me started, and then there's the big things like the horrendous mess that is the court system.
