Nonstop Go

Image
Being a teenager is all about managing your time. College can create some of the best times of your life, but also some of the most stressful instances ever. All the time commitments, the meetings, and the walking in between. It seems like anyone and everyone needs you, wants to hang out, or to study (in all meanings of the term). Once you start it's like nonstop go. This year my life in college has been absolutely nonstop go. It's crazy, I go from class to class, answer emails, reply to text messages, talk to strangers, smile, wave, eat, do homework, study, and sleep after all of that is done. I feel like Prue in that episode of Charmed where she split herself into three people - that witch cray. My life is a constant mess, and I'm teetering on the brink of insanity because I know that if I make one mistake, don't stay on top of my multi-tasking game, then the whole thing falls apart and I'm screwed. It's unbelievable that I've already arrived at this ...

Chaos

Image
Being a teenager is all about learning to deal with the chaos. These are just the facts of life, stuff happens, people get hurt, and things don't always go the way you plan. Things have a tendency to spiral out of control, happenings get blown out of proportion, and subsequently chaos ensues. It's a state of panic, fear, and uncontrollable stream of events. But when the dust has settled, the smoke clears, and you're alive and well - you'll know you've made it through. It's just utter chaos. Chaos can sometimes be a necessary evil. It's a part of life, while it may not always be wanted, it definitely does have it's place in the world. One of the few things I learned from chemistry last year (which was little, eff chem - that ish sucks) was things are better disorganized - that's the natural order (is that entropy, oh who knows - I'm not Bill Nye "the Science Guy"). When things take a sharp turn from the road you thought you were abou...

Heat Waves & Dance Raves

Image
Being a teenager is all about learning to preoccupy yourself during the summer. Everybody has those days (Hannah Montana urge resisted) when they solemnly swear that they're up to nothing at all (Harry Potter reference used). It's so blazing hot outside and even the tar on the roads is melting. Team iPhone users are losing the smartphone battle and their phones can't function because it's hotter than the surface of the sun. It's absolutely unbelievable and totally unprecended. You've got to find ways to beat the heat. This is heat waves and dance raves. Beating the heat requires you to be a whole lot of creative and prepared to do whatever it takes to stay cool. The most obvious thing would be to stay at home in the sanctity that is your air conditioned house. When it's so hot outside that heat advisories have been issued, follow the suggestion and stay home at all costs. The likelihood of heat stroke, and dehydration is high. Listen to your local meteo...

Hot and Bothered

Image
Being a teenager is all about bracing the heat. The past weekend has been one of the hottest on record like ever. It was so hot, and BTW, will continue to keep burning up in this heat wave, that the eastern seaboard was threatened to overload and cause a massive power outage. Like dang, some people need to sacrifice their air conditioning so the rest of us can keep dry, all I know is something's got to give. These days, going outside is like a death sentence, you can't breath, you start getting wet with sweat all over, and the sun is bright. We need to get back that damn ozone, Al Gore was right. It was so hot, this CNN reporter literally fried an egg - that's no joke. Sun screen my ass, if you're going to get, you'll be burnt. Who knows anything anymore, we all are hot and bothered. The summer means the longest days, and it's getting hotter and hotter. It's like literally hell on Earth, and there's nothing you can do about it. The other day I walked...
