Being a teenager is all about learning to preoccupy yourself during the summer. Everybody has those days (Hannah Montana urge resisted) when they solemnly swear that they're up to nothing at all (Harry Potter reference used). It's so blazing hot outside and even the tar on the roads is melting. Team iPhone users are losing the smartphone battle and their phones can't function because it's hotter than the surface of the sun. It's absolutely unbelievable and totally unprecended. You've got to find ways to beat the heat. This is heat waves and dance raves. Beating the heat requires you to be a whole lot of creative and prepared to do whatever it takes to stay cool. The most obvious thing would be to stay at home in the sanctity that is your air conditioned house. When it's so hot outside that heat advisories have been issued, follow the suggestion and stay home at all costs. The likelihood of heat stroke, and dehydration is high. Being a teenager is all about doing anything and everything you want. Teenagedom is one of the most unique times in your life because you're in a situation where you have the freedom to do whatever you'd like. It's up to you to make the most of your time and in the final weeks of the especially, live it up to the best of your ability. Young, wild, and free seems to be dogma nowadays. YOLO is the motto or OLTL, whatever acronym you swear by (I personally like the One Direction Forever Young style "Up All Night" or the Wanted "Chasing the Sun" sentiments), make some memories. Being a teenager is all about living your life to the fullest. College is a time to discover who you really are and understand how you operate. Everyone is different and has those things that they just can't handle. It's when you're in foreign situations like Canada foreign that you see what is really going on around you and with you, personally. Get dressed in your party garb, get hyped and get ready for the night life. Fast forward to Friday night and it's already going down at 9pm.  I'm in Jandro's room where wildness has ensued. Bouncing ping pong balls, light splashing water, and rampant cheering makes it an interesting phenomenon to watch. Being a teenager is all about pushing yourself to limits of adolescent sanity. It's about being able to stay cool under pressure, and exerting yourself past your known limits. This week has been, for sure, the most unbelievably difficult week of college by far, hands down, and without a doubt. I'm talking sleep deprivation in it's greatest form. Y'all know beauty sleep is essential to the teenage lifestyle, without it, we all wake up looking weird, wrinkly and old. Get ready for the wildest two days by far, I'm ready to pass out.
