"There is no end to education. It is not that you read a book, pass an examination, and finish with education. The whole of life, from the moment you are born to the moment you die, is a process of learning" Jiddu Krishnamurti Sometimes I find myself in laughable situations. I just stop for a moment and realize that my life may actually be a sitcom sans audience participation or laugh track. Things happen and I'm just left with nothing else to do but take it in stride, make fun of myself, and keep on keeping on. Think about the all the things you were never taught but probably needed to learn sooner than you actually did. Families do us a disservice in some of the things they don't bother to teach us but even more so, we do ourselves a disservice when we don't take the time to teach ourselves . Who is ultimately responsible for what I know or don't know - me. I think being a lifelong learner is absolutely critical to living a full and dynamic life. ...

Truth - Morality and ethics can both be clearly defined, stringent absolutes, and complicated ambiguous gray areas, depending on your ideological beliefs and personal contexts. In living in a society, there are some commonly agreed upon parameters and guidelines that we all accept, whether consciously or inadvertently. Those who operate beyond the bounds of what we deem legal, if caught, are supposed to deal with the established consequences laws, statutes, and orders that have been set in place. The challenge to that bureaucracy when that established system disadvantages certain people or may just very well be inherently corrupt itself. Are we for moral absolutism or are we more moral relativists? "Despite what they tell you, there are simply no moral absolutes in a complex world." Berkeley Breathed Last week  was an adventure and a half. At every junction I came to there were moral and ethical decisions to be made. How do I behave, what is best for not only m...

Home Away

The 20s are all about getting critical. Criticism, analysis and evaluation all have their purpose and when used properly and effectively, they're crucial to being cognoscente of not only what goes on around you but what role you play in all of it. Taking responsibility for the decisions you make is one of many signs of maturity. Deep down we all know our inner truths, some are just more willing to accept them than others. Time to find that home away, from home. One of the biggest decisions you make in your early years as a young adult is if (that is if it's right for you) and where you'll attend college. Yeah, it's kind of a big deal, but after you've arrived and are in "the college experience" it's important to look back and check your motives. Why did I choose the school I attend? It's a question I get a lot, and at first I used to shrug it off, like I didn't really have an answer, but underneath it all I knew exactly why. It's taken ...

Media Digest

The 20s are all about connecting with the world around you. In this day and age that means the Internet and all it's time-wasting randomness, plus the real stories about what goes on nearby and all over. We're information junkies. Every single day we have to get our fix of the latest updates from your friends, those we digitally stalk (to obsess over or ridicule - can I get an amen), and a tiny sprinkle of actual news. Well if you're ready come and get it. Here's your media digest. Who really knows what it is about media that makes us want no need it so bad and all the time. I'm unashamed to say that every single morning I wake up, roll over to my phone and immediately open TV Guide to read up on the latest celebrity, TV and movie news. I just have to know. I'm also one of those terrible people who reads spoilers before shows. I want to know the synopsis, and who is guest starring, directed and wrote the episode. I care way too much. If you follow me on tw...
