Little Things

Image
Being a teenager is all about noticing the little things. The small subtleties about a person that just make you want to know them more. You watch, observe, and contemplate when you see people doing amazing things just because they can. No fanfare or hubbub necessary but this is something remarkable. People going above and beyond their call of duty (yo, let me get my COD on). I've said it time and time again, "People will always surprise you, whether it's for better or worse, that's part of the surprise." This is little things. There are so many things that make each and every one of different from another. Everyone has something that sets them apart from everyone else in the world. There's the little things that people do that make them unique. Nobody else does the things you do, the way you do and that's something to be celebrated. People do way more than they have to and make an impact. They deserve to be recognized for all the courageous and quirky...

Runaway (400th Post)

Image
Being a teenager is all about gaining an unstoppable momentum. Let me tell you, I've created a movement with this whole blogging thing and it's not showing signs of slowing down anytime soon. It's either, hop on the train to teenage quirkiness or get out the way. I'm not going anywhere, get used to all of this *points to self. It's been a great ride so far, and I can only go further from here. Get ready for an extra special blog/vlog post (yeah there's a hilarious video down there, click on that - it's even got a Finn Harries style candy lick). This is runaway, my 400th blog post! Cannot believe this is my 400th blog post! Like this is not real life right now. I never would have thought I'd be saying that. When I first started the YL:GC (oh yes, I abbreviate the hell outta everything) back in December of 2010 (my two year anniversary is in 10 days, woot!) I didn't know if I could actually keep up with the amount of work it would take. Months star...

Generally Hospitalized

Image
Being  a teenager is all about expecting the unexpected. Teenagedom means that anything and everything can happen to you. You're not immune, you're not superman (One Direction might lead you to believe otherwise), and you're just as vulnerable as anyone else. It's a scary realization to come to but it's the truth. It's always crazy to think about anything going wrong, but sometimes it does. The thing is, you're a teenager and you're capable of doing amazing things like making the best out of any situation, and don't ever forget it. While we're at it, let's just get me generally hospitalized. You're probably wondering what's up with this sort of downer of a blog post, well the truth is I might be a huge mess. I had a little accident and the repercussions were bigger than what I had originally expected. Here's the story. Remember my birthday last week (BTW's I'll blog about the day of later this week) - well it was going ...

Breaking the Ice

Image
Being a teenager is all about starting over in college. College is a completely different place from high school, and I'm not going to lie, stepping on to campus is scary as hell. Let me tell you how overwhelming it is to go someplace where literally everyone is a stranger, no one looks familiar at all and you're constantly looking for anyone who looks remotely familiar. It's kind of crazy, if you think about, going someplace where everybody doesn't know your name. But I'm telling you, it gets better, so much better, hell, who am I kidding, it gets awesome. It's time to start college off right and break the ice. I should really start with move in day but the second day of college was so completely epic that I'd best get down to business right then and there. Waking up at 7 am to go to breakfast might be a mess. I looked glazed over, and uninterested. My floor of 32 people (16 above, and 16 below) marched together to central campus to grab some breakfast g...
