The 20s are all about finding your voice. There are so many things that hold us back from being bold, but most of it is internal. Fear is a powerful thing. Going against the grain, being different, and changing the learned narrative can be terrifying. We're taught to not just ignore difference, but to avoid it and not to acknowledge it. The truth about is difference speaks loudly in a sea of sameness. There's more than one story. There's more than one voice in society, but it's called history for a reason. I want to hear herstory . All the women whose voices and actions we don't learn about - the heroines, victors, and femme fatales. The 20s are all about speaking your mind. We can all think and we pretty much have ideas on just about everything, but it highly beneficial to know when you speak and when to listen. You pick your battles, and maybe for some that means fighting only the ones you can win, and for others that means speaking out and fighting until the end. The 20s are all about never settling for less than you deserve. College is a time when people get out there and hit the dating scene like they've been waiting their entire lives for it. Yeah, the dating pool may be massive and that may mean more people to choose from but that doesn't mean you'll find what you're looking for. Some people come across what they've been searching for, while others are not so lucky. Your day will come, in due time. This is what a boy wants. Somehow I've come to live by this unspoken ideal man law. It's both a gift and a curse at the same damn time. Let me explain. I'm the guy that everyone loves to really like, cute (not hot), empathetic, compassionate, intelligent, put-together, and funny. I always get you would be the perfect boyfriend, why are you single, or why haven't you been spoken for. My favorite is any girl would be a fool to pass up on you. Being a teenager is all about bracing the heat. The past weekend has been one of the hottest on record like ever. It was so hot, and BTW, will continue to keep burning up in this heat wave, that the eastern seaboard was threatened to overload and cause a massive power outage. Like dang, some people need to sacrifice their air conditioning so the rest of us can keep dry, all I know is something's got to give. These days, going outside is like a death sentence, you can't breath, you start getting wet with sweat all over, and the sun is bright. We need to get back that damn ozone, Al Gore was right. It was so hot, this CNN reporter literally fried an egg - that's no joke. Sun screen my ass, if you're going to get, you'll be burnt. Who knows anything anymore, we all are hot and bothered.
