Gotta Be You

Image
Being a teenager is all about self awareness. It's so weird to step a little bit out of your life and look at it. I mean I would see myself and think, "mmm, that boy is finer than the tip of a freshly sharpened pencil" - but seriously, I would notice that I'm a total mess. My life shouldn't even be real, it's like a Lifetime Movie but with a male protagonist. Things just happen to you, and they would only happen to you. It's just gotta be you. Check the One Direction music video " Gotta Be You " Friday morning was a continuation of Thursday night's studying festivities. Reading over my biology notes and lounging. 9:20am rolls around and I'm thinking, my Krabby Patty usually isn't here at this time, maybe I should wake him up. The boy hops out and bed and darts to class faster than a speeding bullet, it's a boy, it's a plane, it's just Krabs. I take my biology exam, and I'm pretty chill about it until I notice the k...

Countdown To Never

Image
Being a teenager is all about anticipation. You know your life is a mess when as soon as you wake up you look forward to the end of your day and getting back in bed. Teenagehood and college are all about thinking ahead. Don't pretend you don't sit in class and watch the clock tick on by. It might be my favorite new passtime. Get ready to read up on more collegiate hilarity and the significance in counting down to never. Wednesday somehow turned into a massive day of nonstop go. I wake up and I have to read some sociology stuff and I'm thinking, is sociology is the study of people, then why isn't there a study on me. I'm pretty sure people would much more like to learn about me then some dumb-ology. I get ready and head to biology where awkwardly no one sits around me. I'm thinking, I know I don't smell bad, my scent is Old Spice "Matterhorn" like ice, wind, and mountain freshness. It's whatever, we talk about meiosis, and all I know is tha...

Dying From Laughter

Image
Being a teenager is all about making your life the best always. Teenagehood is a tough time with so many responsibilities piling up all the time. Especially in college where you have classes to attend, homework, clubs, and that silly thing called actually eating. Time gets tough and the tough just don't get going, they start laughing. Having a sense of humor might be the most important personality trait. I'd be lying if I said that I could friends with someone who couldn't take a joke. If you're a robot with no emotion, funny things don't get you geeking out, or you take everything to offense, you might not be a real person. Grow a pair of funny bones and join the rest of us and start dying from laughing. Monday morning, I have the inspired idea of waking up at 7:30 to study for my honors college midterm. Did it happen? Hell no. I was a major mess. Playboy Chasey-Chase'em came to visit and have our usual bro-time before we set off to go to classes. In Biolog...

Scare Tactics

Image
Being a teenager is all about embracing your fears. Everybody has things that they're afraid of. For me, most insects and certain weird looking fish. Don't tell me that fish faces, gawking and blowing piss water around isn't awe inducing. Don't forget the death traps known as elevators, dimly lit spaces, and gorillas, or ape suits. I've got some irrational fears, but I'm a teenager and it's what I do. College and your adolescence are times to get over what you're afraid of and do something about it. It's time you face what's been haunting you, and ghost bust the hell out of your life. These are just some scare tactics. Friday morning I wake being super gross and burping up a whole lot of Chinese food. Eating Chinese food at 2 am and going to bed right afterwards is not the best idea I've ever had, but I've for sure had way worse. I clear up my little oral malady and it's time for biology lecture. Everyone was a mess in that class. D...

Midnight Oil

Image
Being a teenager is all about dealing with the dirty art of sleep deprivation. It's about the long nights spent hardcore facebook creeping instead of starting essays, and those stupid, pointless deep talks that you're too tired to remember in the morning. College and teenagedom are both defined by the amount of sleep you get. You can wake up looking like you had a menage-a-trois with a ferocious racoon and a sand castle, or like those bursting bead Neutrogena models (why the eff do they splash water everywhere). Time to manage your time and hit the sac, and burn that midnight oil. Krabs and I made this promise, kind of like that Lifetime Movie, "the Pregnancy Pact" but not really the same, that we would wake up at 7:30 am, grab b-fast, and do homework before our classes. Let's jusy say that as teenage boys we should not make promises we can't keep. We get up and we're a like zeetus-lapetus (get my Zenon reference) mess. We leave separately, and end up m...
