Recovery Mode

Image
Being a teenage is all about self evaluation. It's about taking a look back at yourself in retrospect and reviewing what has gone down. The school has officially and it's time to take a good, hard look at what we accomplished, where we messed up and what we learned from the whole ordeal (yup, I just described college as an ordeal). The struggle is so real. Back to recovery mode. So you all know that I'm a very honest and open person (I blog, tweet, post, and share like everything), but sometimes telling the truth can be difficult even if I'm already aware of what it is. My sophomore year of college could be described as nothing more than a colossal mess and epic chaotic proportions. Not only did I take some of my favorite and least favorite classes, I ended making the big decision to change my major. Academically I had some substantial difficulty when it came to making the grades that I actually wanted. I really wonder and will never know if I would have done better...

We All Fall Down

Image
Being a teenager is all about dealing with loss. The reality of life is that we can't always win, there will be times where we lose. If we never lose then we never learn to recover, strengthen ourselves and move on. All things come to an end, even life itself. It's the most difficult thing that anyone can deal with, let alone comprehend, but it's apart of the world we live in. We all fall down, but we have people there to pick us right back up. Death , that is the end of a life. The thing about death is that it's so final. There's nothing you can do when it comes knocking on your door. You can beg, plead, and even try to bargain with the angel of death, the grim reaper, or all those bearers of bad news. It's all useless. Death knows no limits, it doesn't play fair, and it's indiscriminate towards who it takes and when it takes them. One minute someone is here, and the next they are gone. There are so many questions I have when it comes to death. It ...

Take Me Home

Image
Being a teenager is all about making your way home. It's about packing up, loading up your stuff, and hardcore peacing out. Say your goodbyes, squeeze those hugs as tight as you can, and say something meaningful and then let go. Turn around, walk away, and don't look back. If you cry, let the tears fall down your face and then wipe them away and smile. We're out of here, getting into summer mode, and it's time to take me home. *Check out my vine (6 second video editor app for twitter) from the crazy day here: Are you ready for another epic adventure (shoutout to Teennick for finally air the final episodes of Bucket and Skinner's Epic Adventures) from yours truly? No advice, no morality, just a classic adolescent story of going home, quirks, chaos, randomness, and all. Saturday was my last day in Vermont for my sophomore year. I woke up completely dazed and confused as to where I was, contacts in, no retainer, and completely dressed from the night before. I ru...

Never Neverland

Image
Being a teenager is all about finding your place in your world. College is all about coming into your own, defining your life the way you want to and living up to the goals and ideals you set. It's your life and no one has control over it except for you. Anything is possible , dream big and chase your dreams down to the ground. This is never Neverland. Sometimes I wonder if anyone else feels the same way as me when it comes to this whole growing up thing. I understand I'm a you g adult and I'm supposed to be conscious, mature and rational but I do 't always get that. I constantly feel like a little kid playing dress up in big people's clothes. I feel like a child playing pretend that he actually knows what he's doing. I feel out of place and that my young age (okay, I'm 19 and a half *the half is super important) shows. I don't really know where I belong or how I portray myself. Everyone else seems to just adjust, adapt and stay with it or appea...
