Puzzle Pieces

Image
The 20s are all about figuring out where you belong. With everything and everyone moving so fast around you, it's a true struggle to ever feel settled, safe and secure in not only yourself but those you surround yourself with. When you do find the people that make you feel comfortable, it's a true gift. The people we're looking for are out there and whether they know it or not, they're looking for us in return. Put together the picturesque portrait known as your life with all the puzzle pieces of those around you. There come a time in everyone's life when they realize they may have a slight problem. Mine just so happens to be with shopping and accepting things the way they are. Let me tell you the amount things that I've purchased in the past four days have truly been outrageous. I had to actually reorganize everything using a "lifehack" BuzzFeed Article  - it was legit that serious. Now that everything has been put away, and my livelihood and near...

The Charter

Image
Being a teenager is all about being apart of something larger than yourself. It's about finding yourself as an individual within a group (when you do that you've stumbled upon some extraordinary). It's about going through thick and thin and making it out even better than before. It's the big moments in your shared history, but the little things along the way that let you know you're right where you're supposed to be. Come along with me and know the legend of the charter. So you want to hear the epic story of Phi Mu Delta: Nu Gamma's journey to their chartering ceremony, huh? You've come to the right place. Here begins the longest day in fraternal fanfare none this teenage man (boy). Friday afternoon started with me splaying all across my bed in my residence hl room and watching Nickelodeon's "House of Anubis" (let me be 19 - oka)). Soon it was time for me to bundle up, because it was literally single digits freezing outside and make my ...

Fade to Gray

Image
Being a teenager is all about dealing with everything, that includes yourself and others. You have to be on it or face the consequences. The slightest differentiation from your "normal" self (the one that everyone sees) means there must be something terribly wrong. If you're not being you must be pissed, depressed, or "in a bad mood." Nope, that's not it - I'm just tired. I have the right to let it all hang out every once in a while, to show a different of myself, and to not be judged for it. Sometimes you have to show all 50 shades of gray, and other times you just fade to gray. Fading to gray is all about dealing with things as they come. Whether it be good or bad news, you either show out or retreat back into yourself. You fade, you cringe, you rescind inwards and protect yourself. You shy away from others, lose a little bit of your pep and you might be a little down in the dumps. Express how you feel and do you - fade to gray.   One of my f...

Crunch Time

Image
Being  a teenager is all about doing the impossible in the shortest amount of time possible. Yes, I understand that by definition doing the impossible is literally impossible, hence the word, and having something go from impossible would make it possible - but who cares. Summer is slowly winding down, it's picking up speed and heading for the bend before we're officially back to school. Now is when you've got to make your dying summer wishes come true, prepare to enter the battlefield known as school again, and get it all done with what little time you have left. This is crunch time. Let's start with the basics of back to school. First and foremost, you've got all those things you need to purchase for your room, plus school supplies, and most importantly clothing for yourself. If you're like me, and the word self-sufficient has no meaning to you (as in mom & pop magically supply your monetary needs) then this, my friends, might be the best time of the year...

Lightning

Image
Being a teenager is all about getting your flirt on. Yup, I said it - every once in a while you've got to go out of your comfort zone and go after the cute girl across the way. When you see someone that catches your eye, it's that instant spark, the moments the surge of electric runs through you and it's like lightning. Then a few moments later you hear the thunder and that's the beating of your heart. It's about to go down, this is lightning. Going to the mall during the day is one of the weirdest things ever. I know it's like senior citizen time where they just go window shopping and browse around, but truth is - not all people in the AAA club are like Betty White. Some people love the oldies, but I'm a modern man and I prefer the kiddies - preferable days old newborns (that sounds really weird, I just really like babies). Anyway, my mom and I pick up my sister, Bianca, from her long day (an hour and a half exam) from school and we're off to down...
