Circumnavigation (700th Post)

Truth - Sometimes our lives run in circles. We start out someplace and think that we never want to end up there but you never if that's exactly where you're supposed to be. When we do make it back to the start we are different. We have changed. We have grown through different things. We carry with us all the experiences we have acquired. It's not the same and we are more well equipped to take on any of the choppy waters, attacking pirates, or stormy weather that comes our way. It's been a long journey but it's one that goes on and on. This is circumnavigation & my 700th blog post!   "You are the author of your own life story; choose to write something memorable daily" Wow , what can I say other than a massive thank you all. I cannot believe I'm writing my 700th post. Hundreds of thousands of words later and I'm still chugging along. Who would have thought my life story would be worthy of so many words. It's funny to me because I fee...

Climax (600th Post)

The 20s are all about understanding your latent potential. Each and every one of us has something special to offer the world. There is something you do that literally no one else in the entire world can do. Every person you meet knows something that you do not know. I believe life is all about figuring out what our purpose on this Earth is and using it to help other people. The crazy thing is that not everyone figures out what they're supposed to be doing and that right there is the hardest part about life. These are some of the most important and exciting years of our lives. Some people are taking off, others are just getting started, and even more are almost there. They're at the climax. *Every special occasion deserves a video blog post from yours truly, enjoy me being my goofy self and taking on the "Cottonball Challenge" - subscribe to my YouTube channel for more videos! * Get at my social media - Follow @drjotengii (twitter, instagram & pinterest), J...

Nonstop Go

Image
The 20s are all about doing the most. People always say that you can only choose two interests in college between sleep, academics, and friendship but it's too damn true. You can probably guess which one I miss out on, no surprise that I do not sleep. There is so much to do each day and so many people to talk to, it's a wonder that we ever even sleep. Sometimes you have to make miss out on things to get the get the most out of life. We make time for the things that matter to us. How long can you push the nonstop go? If I give you the rundown of all the things I've done this week you wouldn't believe what went on so I'll do just that. It's been one of the craziest weeks I've ever had in my entire life and most definitely in my college experience. Check out a special vlog update below:     There are times when you realize that your #FOMO (fear of missing out) is too real and this week was one of those times. I'll admit there were more than a ...

Gas Pedal

Image
The 20s are all about getting thrown into the thick of it and riding it out. Your circumstances and the situations that go down around you will always be changing, but the only common denominator through it all is ... you. You are the greatest common factor (let me stop with these math references) no matter where you are, and that's what you have to count on. That you are more than capable and able to overcome and persevere regardless of what goes on around you. Slow down, grab the wall, and wiggle like you're tryna make it all fall off, gas pedal.   * So college has finally become super busy (as if I haven't been that way for the past two years), and it's time for me to buckle down a bit more so that means, unfortunately, your favorite twenty-something blogger will be posting less often. It's been a tough decision to make but the decisive and correct choice. But that means most likely more video blogs instead, so you can see and hear me instead of reading my ra...

Challenge Accepted

Image
Being a teenager is all about stepping it up. Call us out, we won't back down and we say bring it on. We might be a little rowdy, kind of random and a whole lot of idiotic but we're young, and have got a lot to learn. Let us do our thing and deal with things as they come. It's on like Donkey Kong (90s kids #FTW). Challenge accepted.  Check out my sister and I taking one another on in the patented "Chubby Bunny Challenge" - probably one of my favorite videos to shoot! This summer has been one huge challenge so far. My motivation to study for my impending MCAT examination has been tough to muster, but I go at it everyday. It's just so damn boring. But you gotta do what you gotta do. I've been interspersing my time of hardcore studying with tons of TV (hence the PLL, Teen Wolf, and X-Men images) and random adventures. Yesterday I went to KFC (because I was craving chicken, okay) and the people there were absolutely hilarious. I was sitting in the par...

Till Death Do Us Part

Image
Being a teenager is all about being present for the most important moments. I can't stress the necessity of showing your support enough. When people who care about one another come together, anything is possible. Life is so much more fun when you have people to share it with. That's why we're given families, and we make friends, and we search for our spouses. We're not supposed to make this journey all alone, we need people. Once you're connected, joined, bonded, and stuck together - it's till death do us part. It's been a while since you last heard from me, your favorite teenage blogger but it's been a crazy couple of days. Let me catch you up in the best way I know how - a vlog! Check out the epic weekend that was my brother's wedding celebration. Let me just say that it was an amazing experience and I was so happy and proud to be part of it and to add new people to our family and see my brother happier than ever before. One down, 4 to go for ...

Deprivation State

Image
Being a teenager is all about getting your priorities straight. A wise man once said, you make time what you feel is important. If you say you're busy that could mean that you're swamped like a bog in the bayou or that you honestly don't care enough to make time for what's being asked of you. A lot of times we say that other things are more important and that we cannot give our precious time to anything else. If it matters to you, you'll find the time and motivation to do something about it - just don't patronize others for feeling the same thing for a differ. I'm lacking in the sleep department, and need to make it my top item on my list of things to do - no more deprivation state).   You all know that I do the absolute utmost on a daily basis. I really should probably dial it down and get my life together before I just keel over and pass out ... permanently, but like Caesar (the great leader, not the salad) I'm way too ambitious to ever slow down....

Popular Vote

Image
Being a teenager is all about running a clean race. It's about stick to your laurels and never compromising them, whether you're in office, or all alone. Being in the public eye can get super weird, really fast. It's easy to get caught up in the moment and in a few seconds, you've lost yourself and done or said something you promised you never would. Here's to staying true to yourself, no matter what and never changing for anyone or anything. The best candidates are the ones who show you who they are and keep it that way. This is the popular vote. First and foremost. I'm running for IRA (Inter-Residence Association) or as most other schools call it, RHA (Residence Hall Association) president at the University of Vermont. My campaign slogan is "the right kind of famous" and I'm keeping the whole thing viral on twitter, facebook, and YouTube. Vote for me Monday-Wednesday, April 1-3 at  http://uvm.edu/clubs .
