Socialite Status
Being a teenager means keeping up with the Kardashians. No not really, but I do enjoy Khloe and Lamar, that show is hilarious and I do expect Rob Kardashian and Malika Haqq to get married, or else I might go after the girl myself. But seriously, teenagedom is about being up to date with the latest trends. I'm talking twitter people. It's time to go over some twitter rules, how to gain more followers and what to and not to tweet about. Plus I'll give you a rundown on summer shows that you need to be watching. And possibly music videos and songs that are sure to be smash hits on your summer soundtrack. Summertime is about staying just enough in touch with your friends to not appear dead. It's about getting yourself out there and doing what teens do best, talk, text, tweet, watch TV and facebook (yup, it's a verb). I don't know about you but I'm on that socialite status.
Now on to summer television. One of the things most people don't know about ITunes is that you can get free series premieres, and they're usually available a week or so before their small screen premieres. Summer is a time where most networks try out their riskiest shows so take some chances and get hooked on these shows. On ABC Family it's all about Pretty Little Liars (Tuesday nights at 8), a huge mystery with blackmail and a good looking cast, and even some humor, plus a ton of drama. Then there's the Nine Lives of Chloe King (Tuesday at 9), it just started last week, and has a really unique story, with a great cast and relatable teenage themes. And Switched at Birth about just that, teens mixed up at the hospital, one of them is deaf and the whole sign language thing is amazing (Mondays at 8pm) and it has the mom from George Lopex, and amazing actress. If you like comedies, check out the second season of Melissa and Joey with stars Melissa Joan Hart (Sabrina the Teenage Witch) and Joey Lawrence (classic TV heathrob) on ABC Family starting Wednesday June 28. For humor, check out Big Time Rush, ICarly, Victorious, Supah Ninjas and the Epic Adventures of Bucket and Skinner on Nickelodeon. A.N.T. Farm, Good Luck Charlie, Wizards of Waverly Place, Phineas and Ferb, and So Random on Disney Channel. Zeke and Luther, Kickin' It, and Pair of Kings on Disney XD. If you like drama and action then Teen Wolf on MTV, Monday nights at 10pm is perfect for you. It's easy to get into and the sidekick best friend of Stiles might be literally hilarious. If you want the perfect combination of anything and everything teenager check out season 11 of Teennick's Degrassi, 7 weeks of new episodes everyday called Now or Never; it starts Monday July 18th. After a week of shows you'll be able to keep up with all the characters and I promise you'll love it. If you're in to science fiction, try TNT's Falling Skies for post apocalyptic alien slaying, Sunday nights at 10pm. The best TV station for summer shows might be USA Network. If you like medical shows but prefer dramedies (drama and comedy) check out Royal Pains, starting it's third season at the end of June (check local listings) - it's got an amazing cast, and it's medically correct. If you need some reality TV, MTV's got your fix with The Challenge: Rivals (alumni from the Real World and Road Rules challenges) Wednesday's at 10pm. The people on there are crazy, tons of fights and competition. Get with the television kids, I'm on socialite status.
So now you need your summer music playlist. There are some songs that you need to have to make your summer wicked awesome. Pitbull featuring Ne-Yo, Afrojack and Nayer "Give Me Everything (Tonight)" is a must have. LMFAO "Party Rock Anthem" will be blasting everywhere. Katy Perry's amazing music video for "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)" just premiered on the web, and it's hilarious, it's got Blaine and Artie from Glee, Hanson, Kenny G, Corey Feldman, some models and Rebecca Black throwing the party. You need Nicki Minaj's "Superbass" and Black Eyed Peas "Just Can't Get Enough" and "Don't Stop the Party" - IYAZ "Last Forever" - and Britney Spears brings it again with "I Wanna Go." Now some songs I think you just should check out because they're my personal favorites, Chris Brown featuring Justin Bieber "Next 2 You" for a end of the world love song. For some dance music, Jesse McCartney's unreleased hits, "One Night" - "Make It Special" and "Tonight Is Your Night" - and if you need some love songs, Shane Harper's got your pretty much acoustic guitar hits - "Dance With Me" - "Rocketship" - "Hideaway" - and "Jump." The party girl (Ke$ha) herself keeps the party going with "Sleazy" and "Crazy Beautiful Life." I'm telling you, this summer of music will keep you cruising all heatwave long. Lastly, you need Drake "I'm On One" and Lil' Wayne "How to Love"- we're on socialite status.
Being a teenager is all about being in touch with your wild side. It's about tweeting about anything and everything. Watching tons of TV marathons, and blasting music while you drive around aimlessly. You're now on socialite status.
Twitter is the next big thing. If you haven't signed up for a twitter account you need to do so ASAP. Why you might ask? Because you can follow your favorite celebrities, musicians, companies and even TV and keep so up to the minute on anything and everything it's shouldn't even be possible. I'm talking about seeing behind the scenes pictures and videos, spoilers, rumors and everything in between. Here's some things you need to know about twitter. No one wants to follow you if you have a locked account, it's annoying to have to send requests just to follow you and your tweets cannot be retweeted even though they may be witty and hilarious. Unblock yourself and get ready for the world to right with you. If you go someplace random or cool, tweet your location and let us all know where you are. The best way to find your fave celebs in the real world is b them tweeting their real-time whereabouts. On twitter you can with contests and get in touch with people you normally wouldn't. For example, I got shoutouts and retweets from some of my favorite actors and musicians, it's awesome. You can partake in trending topics to know what most people are talking about. If you don't want to follow a ton of people, you can follow a list of people, like the one on my profile of my high school teenagers. If you're not following on twitter, you need to be. You love my blog and think I'm hilarious, but can't handle reading my posts everyday. I keep the funny coming in 140 characters or less, http://twitter.com/drjotengii. You should tweet funny things or what you're doing, but you shouldn't be tweeting when you're drunk of your ass, high on drugs or in the middle of a dirty hook up. If you constantly tweet, people will unfollow you. Limit yourself to a few a day or about a certain subject. Hashtag (#) it up right now. When you get notable people to follow you, you're on socialite status.

My double blog post question for the day is ... who are favorite actors?
The best in my book are James Wolk, Wesley Morgan, and Luke Bilyk.
